There are three colours that would affect a layer. 

Blue - keeps the birds calm, reduces the feather pecking

Red - increase food intake, enhance egg production, activate movement and accelerate sexual development

Green - increase growth rate at an early age

In 2700k LED tube's colour spectrum, it outputs a good amount of these three colours, with red being the dominate colour
